Alicante Internation Airport is the largest and most popular airport in the province. The airport is situated 9 kilometres southwest of the capital, in the municipality of Elche, in one of the most dynamic and up and coming business and economic zones on the Mediterranean coast.

There are numerous airlines going to and from the UK to Alicante Airport, these include: Aerlingus, British Airways, British Midlands and the budget airlines offering cheaper flights: BMI Baby, Easyjet, Flybe, Jet2, Monarch. To adapt airport capacity to the growing air traffic demands, significant infrastructure improvements are being carried out, particularly in the passenger terminal control area. In 2005, Alicante airport handled 8,795,705 passengers!

Alicante Car Hire - All kinds of vehicles available to passengers on their arrival at the airport. Alicante airport offers the services of nine car hire companies: Avis, ATESA, Centauro, Europcar, Europa Car, Hertz, Sol-Mar, Auriga and Record Rent a Car. The offices of these companies are located on the lower floor of the terminal (arrivals). In addition to these there are also numerous smaller car hire companies operating from within the parking area.

Ticket sales and luggage check-in are carried out on the ground floor, whilst boarding for both domestic and international flights is conducted on the first floor of the passenger terminal. The passenger-only area, on the first floor, has a departure lounge where you can find several shops, restaurants and cafeterias. This area is accessed through the security checkpoint.

Passengers arriving on both domestic and international flights pass through a walkway to the baggage reclaim hall, situated on the ground floor. Baggage is reclaimed from the 9 available conveyor belts, 2 for international flights and 7 for domestic flights. The international section also has passport control and customs. Passengers leave the airport building via the arrival hall on the lower floor which is accessed via a ramp.
