Where is Javea Located?
Javea is a town on the Costa Blanca situated to the south of Denia and consists of three separate and distinct areas situated at the foot of the Montgo mountain and nature park.
Javea Old Town
Javea Old Town is 2km inland from the Port. The historic medieval centre is built around a 15th century fortified Gothic church which dominates the area. The narrow streets contain bars, restaurants, shops, a market hall and museum as well as municipal offices. Old town buildings in Javea are predominately built with an open textured golden stone known as "Tosca". The few new buildings in this area have been designed to complement the surrounding architecture - much to the credit of the town hall.
Javea Port
Javea Port is a lively area with a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, many over looking the beach with uninterrupted sea views - ideal for a coffee, long lunch or late dinner under the stars. The Port in Javea is home to a small fishing fleet and a marina, so there are always boats coming and going. Here you will also find many water sports including fishing, sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving.
Playa del Arenal, Javea
Playa del Arenal is known as the Arenal and is about 2km south of Javea's port. It is the largest and most popular beach with wide golden sands. This 'Blue Flag' gently sloping beach is ideal for young and old and the traffic free promenade is safe for children. As a bonus, it is lined by plenty of restaurants and bars, so refreshment is always at hand if the beach gets too hot!
