Location

Torrevieja is a lovely coastal town situated on the Costa Blanca, approximately 30 minutes south of Alicante Airport and some 20 minutes north of Murcia Airport. Torrevieja is very easily accessed from the A7 motorway which runs some 20kms inland of the town and which virtually runs from Paris to Gibraltar.

 

Open all Year

Because Torrevieja is an old fishing town, with its own harbour and small fishing fleet. It is not a “resort” in the true sense of the word and does not cater for the package holiday industry – those activities take place much further to the north. The shops, bars and restaurants of the town are open all year round, to cater for a population which is either resident in the area, or enjoying a stay in a holiday home owned by themselves or relatives.

 

Facilities & Services

Torrevieja has a fabulous range of facilities, apart from its wonderful shops, tapas bars, restaurants and its incredible outdoor market, which offers a tremendous selection of fish, fruit, meat and vegetables throughout the year. There are four magnificent 18 hole Golf Courses locally and a number of Marinas which boast some of the most beautiful craft to be found anywhere on the Mediterranean. Over the last decade, Torrevieja has witnessed a great deal of growth, but because of the strict building controls which have been in force, the new has blended with the old and the overall benefits have been tremendous.

 

A great deal of revenue has been derived from the growth of the town and has been reinvested in a wonderful range of facilities and services. So that the town did not become overcrowded with vehicles, underground car parks have been built. The promenades have been beautifully repaved, exquisite fountains have been constructed and many facilities have been added or improved so that the quality of life is even greater now than it was before.

 

Scenery

Torrevieja is bounded by the Mediterranean on one side and thousands of acres of fruit groves inland. Most of the scenery is breathtaking and within moments you are driving in beautiful open countryside where you can stop and pick a fresh orange or lemon and enjoy the fabulous bounty that nature has gifted to this part of the world.
